Robotics Exit Ticket Note: No music allowed!

Go to the DESKTOP and open up  NXT Robotics Engineering Vol.1. Go to Basics; Watch the videos on using the Programming Software very carefully. Then answer the questions on the exit ticket.
If you finish early DO NOT PLAY ROBLOX. Go to Misterlev.blogspot.com and look at the NXT Robot Sensor Lesson post. Watch the youtube video (Mr. L may have to play it for the class). Read the sensor information and explore the stemcentric link. Watch the Introduction video there.
Answer the following questions:
  1. How do you open the LEGO Mindstorms EDu software?


  1. How to you open a program? save a program? Note: This is when you should BRING IN FLASH (USB) DRIVE. You CANNOT open a program on these computers from the PC hard drives.

  1. What is the COMMON palette? What is the COMPLETE palette? What is the difference? Which should we be using with our educational software?

  1. What does each block represent?


  1. How are the commands run. In what ORDER are they executed (run)?


  1. Where do we change the specifics of each command?(Hint: Tip #1)


  1. What the difference between the “MOTOR” block and the “MOVE” block? Which should we use with our lesson programming? (Hint: Tip #2)


  1. How can we add a command block? How do we remove a block if we don’t want it anymore?

  1. What does a star (*) mean next to a sensor command block on the palette? (Tip #3)
  2. What are comments used for? How do we add them? (Tip #4)

  1. How do we “send” a program to the robot? what are the 2 ways?


  1. How can we  move the screen over to see extra long programs? How can we “snake” them so they are easier to see?


  1. When should you save? How can you save? How can you save as a new name?
